historically speaking - every time a pop rapper makes a track dedicated to whatever sneaker is hot for the moment - that sneaker is dead within a year.
when AF1s were the hottest thing out for a few years -> Nelly made urr force ones and not long after nobody in the mainstream cared about AF1s anymore not long after america caught wind of bathing ape and bapestas caught on -> soulja boy makes I got me some bapes, and the bapesta officially died (and not long after, the hoodies.. and with them all over prints in general [though, it's sorta back]) after bapes died dunks got hot, and while I have no knowledge of a dunks/SBs song dropping in the mainstream, I noticed Js overtake the game. granted of course, to legit collectors, Jordans have always been a staple of the shoe game.. but more recently Jordans are what you're seeing the masses flock to.. to the point where they have to do raffle tickets for shitty, general release, retro+ colorways like the crimson 3s.. all that being said, I bring you this: with all the hype already surrounding foams and lebrons, I figure w/ the song out, the jordan bubble is gonna burst, and by next year, we'll be able to walk in the mall in w/o having to wait outside, in order to cop GR kicks like we used to.
