I'm more depressed than you. It isn't a competition, but my initial thoughts on an opening line compels me to say it. It's an assumption, but one I make not entirely earnest. It's just a tool to make you feel. This is what apathy looks like. I sit down to write a verse, and wind up tearing myself and what I do apart. Because it all seems so pretentious. Look at me, everyone. I'm special. My knowledge of tropes allows me to manipulate the emotions you learned from TV. Now that that's out of the way... I'm more depressed than you. I haven't seen my son in 2 weeks. This is by choice. My boss thinks people who think in terms of gray areas are weak. He's also in his late 40's and refers to things as, 'beast'. He looks down on his nephew for crossing his legs, and thinks it's because he's being raised by women. He might be right about the influence part. He says he wouldn't care if he were gay, but he would. Life grays with time. Statements and stands are what make a personality. Confidence comes from assurance, and assurance is ignorance masked.
