Default it's not every day your brand new brake rotor tears itself in half

did the brake job myself... it was fine all yesterday, drove about 8 miles, got my car inspected, and as I'm on my way to get gas, it fucking shears in two

I was going like 40 mph when it snapped. Rear end kicks out, the tire gets ripped off the rim and goes flat, the whole wheel locks up/ I had to slam the brakes to avoid going up on some dudes lawn.

idk if you can tell by the pics, but the rotor's aluminum disc completely separated from the center, and the brake caliper got shoved into the spokes of my wheel which is why it stopped dead

I was like, damn I guess I fucked up with alignment somehow... even though there's no way that should happen.

I talk to the mechanic, he says I did it properly except that w/ new aluminum brake rotors if you tighten them too much (I used a air ratchet) they're so cheaply made that the stress causes em to fail

the stress of existing

for 2 days

Cliff Notes:
- metal brake rotor rips itself in half, theyre two days old
- Autozone rotors are pieces of shit
