Having being the original NC convict I feel compelled to state...

In order to jail someone a trial must be had

there should be predetermined max/min sentences for specific boarding crimes already specified to the community as a whole

Defense must be valid, pro se being allowed

Ample evidence must be shown with discovery on both sides

U have the right to face ur accuser(s) and to know the charges being levied prior to trial

I also feel there should be the option of having a judge or jury, with jury selection being available on both sides

also there should be pretrial options, and possible probation restrictions in leu of jailing

once tried, and convicted the person incarcerated should be able to post from their cell (this was a prior problem I faced,) they should also be able to fly kites to the outside (pm,) and have the ability to participate in any prior obligation - whether it being a pm'd verse and votes, or whatever other alternative....also if said inmate has crew ties, they should be allowed to post in their crews designated forum

additionally, the majority of the board is allowed to rally enough support to grant said inmate early release if petitioned, and repeal judgement

judgement should be fair and just, not forever jailed...no charge is a pbl

that being said...

i agree with @Kyzo no one should ever be banned, jail is the substitution, only reason for permanent banning would be attempted destruction of the board, or agreed upon voluntary pink slip

also editing of post should not be allowed regardless of administrative abilities (@el pancake), unless request by op or bc it violated vb policy.

If said inmate has gainfully escaped from custody they should not be rejailed or tried again, they have effective outsmarted the system and thus should earn their freedom.

No Double Jeopardy

lastly, no one is above judgement, and those being judged should have a fair trial (this does not negate any and all lulz had during the whole preceding.)

Only personal IRL information should be stricken from court record after the trial, however during the trial if it pertains to said case it is permitted.
