uh-oh is saying OutKast didn't have very much influence in the Northeastish part of the country, I think.

I remember hearing Hey Ya until I didn't like that song anymore. and Roses. Ms. Jackson is still sick.

but people didnt bump OutKast outside the radio top 40, it wasnt a thing here.

I'm from Queens.

If you don't think the South and OutKast in particular had a huge influence on rap everywhere, particularly from a production standpoint, then you're ignorant.

outkast was never relevant here. no one i know listens to outkast. i only find people who like them online.

i missed out on them because of that. i dug the fuck out of there singles lmao. so fresh and so clean when the drums kick in and the song drops i still smile. ms jackson is a classic hip hop song to me. elevators is my favorite song from them

but word i can't even quote one outkast couplet. just aint me

i will say that i see them get love all the time online. i don't understand it. with other people i get it. even if i dont like it.

goodie mob got more love than outkast here

Goodie Mob got more love in the DC/MD area as well.. but I found that the Eastern Shore of MD had a buncha heads that grew up listening to Outkast more than GM.

I mean, of course we all heard their classics get overplayed on the radio.. but Outkast wasn't a big thing where I grew up. Everybody jumped on Goodie Mob tho.. & tho they're dope, I only really fucked w/ Black Ice.

Outkast was/is prominent in Illinois for some reason tho.. apparently they were huge out here in the 90's & they're highly respected & regarded today.

For me, in the 90s, No Limit Records was the south.. & I had like every album. It actually was my favorite music ever to listen to when I was in middle/high school.. lol I still have alot of da tank's shit today matta of fact.

But yeah Outkast didn't have a big influence in my area.

Do you think that was accidental, like they forgot to turn the levels right in the studio?

What @Strikta said is the truth. I grew up in New Orleans and you couldn't go anywhere without having or hearing a No Limit Records album.

Fiend
Big Ed the Assassin
Mystikal
C-Murder
Silk the Shocker
Master P

Fuck, half the reason crack had a reemergence in that era is because of Ghetto D. The fucking first track of the album gives you step by step instructions on how to cook crack cocain... Man, that was my fucking shit

I still have a lot of those albums and will continue to buy them whenever I see them available. There like collector's items.
