Default Little Richard RIP

Pardon thy pitch, I'm just apart of a wish,
and through the midst of destruction, it all started with this

When the going gets tough, the tough gets going
Life's an omen of disgust, deceit's steadily growing
I've been showcasing strength, ever since I found life
My pleas fall of deaf ears, peace is a drowned cry
I'm not shy. I'm not cocky, I'm actually proud of my fate
Though my heart's a dark cave, with emotions pounding away.
Enslaved by opinions, I face hate in dominions,
of many men and women and their faithful religions
See, I'm different, and while I'm living, I need the world to know,
that in the eyes of this angel, lies a little glow
There's picket signs. There's nigger signs, rating me as less than man.
Though the whole world'll groove with the stretch of my hands.
See, I'm confused, cause I'm so hated, yet you relate to the sound,
of a funk driven soul, with his face in the ground.
Kick me while I'm down. "Ouch!" One to the groin.
But at the end of this chapter, I bet the whole world'll join.
We're mere coins of society, who're worth our weight in gold,
and though our souls question grace, let the music take control.
Watch! Let me show you.
See them tapping their feet?
Even conservative rednecks love these magical beats.
And I'm a freak for the rhythm, I'm caged in the tune.
Da Bop Daba Doo Whop, Da Bop, Bam, Boom!
The sparks fly as high as my spirit when I'm jamming these keys.
The rhythm punctures gravity, causing sound waves to bleed.
This supersedes ignorance, to hell with status and power.
Cause through the depths of the ego, we're all just a flower.
Now, I tower over hate, racism and naysayers.
And by the time I finish rocking, the world'll need a pacemaker.
I've spent generations in, and most generations laughed.
But today, I stand firm over the generation gap.
From Juke Jumps to Sweat boxes, I targeted misery.
And rocked away my sorrow, I'm one of the greatest in history.
Blissfully I stare, with the world in dismay.
Little Richard Penniman. Successful, black and gay
