Verses will be due Thursday Oct. 9th at 11:59 p.m. Western / 2:59 Am Eastern / 7:59AM UK. There are no Extensions. No Exceptions.

Verses must be a minimum of 10 Lines and maximum of 48 Lines or 650 words unless agreed upon by both competitors.

Votes will be due Sundays at 11:59 p.m. Western / 2:59 Am Eastern / 7:59AM UK .

Jesus

Eleven men besides myself in a boat both small and light,
pushed off for heavens gate in the first watch of the night.
The storm arrived at midnight, raining hard down the prow.
We started losing headway, shipping water stern and bow.
Then someone shouted, "Hey! look to starboard on the sea!"
The man screamed out in terror, at the form we all could see.
A man was walking on the water as we trembled, cried and prayed.
Until he stopped and turned and spoke to us "It's I don't be afraid."
I shouted out to jesus "If it's you then call to me,
and tell me how to come to you, and I can walk across the sea!."
without a seconds thought, he looked to me
paused and answered "come."
My insides turned to water and my mind went blank and numb
I climbed across the gunwale looking straight into his eyes,
and long before i reached his side, the wind began to rise
I forgot him in an instant and I sank just like a stone,
I cried out "jesus save me!" and his hand was on my own.
"Oh man of little faith, what made you doubt my word..
have you been this long without me, not knowing what youve heard?"
I climbed into the boat, all at once the wind was gone.
The sea turned calm and gentle, and the day began to dawn.
We knelt amazed and worshipped him for the power he displayed.
For all that we had seen left us cowards and dismayed.
It wasn't till after the Pentecost I could really understand,
that even when i doubted him, he never let go of my hand.

We arrived in the boat at the shore and the I looked left,
surprised it would float, I had a nap and dreamt of footsteps.
Once again was with him, walking down along the beach.
The sky flashing scenes of life, and they were strong enough to teach.
Two sets of footprints, one of his just back of mine.
Then another scene lit up the sky and took me back in time.
"You were nine, but you shined even when you could barely see."
"The highest mountains to climb, it was then you carried me.
One set of footprints in the sand when I faced my biggest obstacles.
You helped me believe in myself, when I never thought it was possible,
But the lowest times I've had in my life, I needed you the most."
"Don't underestimate me son, its then I was close.
Precious child, I love you dearly I would never abandon you.
The times you couldnt see clearly, it's then I gave my hand to you."
"But what is a man to do, when he's full of hopeless mischief?
I'm fuckin broke, its Christmas, my daughter just wrote her giftlist."
Have faith and just believe, since when have I ever lied to you?
You know that when you call my name,
I'm always there to provide for you."
So at that last word of his, my eyes blurred, I swore my heart stopped,
But still I had a pulse, as I awoke to my alarm clock.
I carried on the next day as if nothing even happened..
save me lord, cause if you dont, then I swear I'll forever be trapped in...
