Default question for my brahs

I'm working to increase my strength without increasing my size. I've read across various forums that heavy weights and low reps with long rests, a maintenance diet, and compound exercises to increase fiber recruitment is the way to go. Any qualified, at least by experience, opinions?

that sounds contradictory to anything ive heard. heavy weights get you bigger, lighter weight with higher reps tone you up.

never understood the whole I wanna lift weights and not get bigger thing tbh.

I know, I felt the same way. The key as I've read is muscle fiber recruitment; lining up your muscle fibers to all fire off more readily and a maintenance diet; only consuming enough calories to maintain your current weight.
For example you know it takes more muscle activity to lift a television than a toothbrush. That extra activity is more muscle fiber recruitment tbe. You also know that to get bigger you have to eat bigger, right?

As for my size prefence, I'm happy with my current size to strength ratio, but I am super imposing at 200. plus I miss that weight I had where I could lean on niggas...

anyways I cut for a few months and got it down to 180, and I wanna stay there, fine tune my physique and jack up my 1rm all around, before I put that other 20 back on.

in fact as I'm putting that 20 back on, I think I wanna boost my strength to size exponentially per five pounds of body weight. idk I aint no fuckin scientist.

Its just a personal preference; I'd rather be a sleeper, than all show no go.
Shit, for that I'd get some creatine water muscles or pump synth. lmao

plus I look good in my clothes, not tryina jack up my fits, just my lifts...

anyways, you basically have it, NAQ. no matter what rep scheme or regiment you do, if you lift your physique WILL change. it's just a matter of degrees. hanging around the 3-6 rep ranges will recruit your central nervous system more and relate more to pure strength. powerlifters, for instance, train in those rep ranges. they'll still do their assistance work in higher rep ranges, tho. if your looking purely for strength google 'Starting Strength' by Mark Rippetoe. It takes all of the basic, necessary compound (multi-muscle, multi-joint) movements into two alternating workouts. Take it with a grain of salt if you don't want to put on weight, though. It assumes you'll eat at a caloric surplus and don't care about gaining some extra fat. But the basic principles are sound for creating a good strength base for a novice.
