Pop was a dealer, serving on the corner of 5th and I-R Drive
Mom was a addict, I was a product of how she got the product that got her high... When most kids was just laying waiting to be clothed and bottles I was crawling through crsckhouse floors, dodging cigarette butts and broken bottles Typical babies was giving pacifiers and other forms of relief.. I was giving shots of vodka and cocaine rubbed on my gums when I started to teeth... 6 years old, dirty gear, holes in my socks and my shoes... Education? How, mom had warrants & was afraid to take me to sign up for school... Aunties was crackheads or was it just crackheads I called my auntie...whatever it was true to me Family to me was whoever gave me food and a place to sleep That varied day to day hour to hour...ghetto nomads To be honest, I didn't even know mad...emotions was something I didn't even know I had... Until 8 I didn't even know Dad...but mom had done got so bad She dropped me off to some strange nigga and said this yo lad.... 9 years old, I didn't sell crack to survive because it was the hand the lord gave me.... Nigga I sold crack because my daddy and that God damn extension cord made me... But I stayed fed and properly clothed...so to me pop was the goat... At 10 didn't even know that was a cop that approached... Until he confiscated the crown royal bag full of money and dope.... Locked in cell, lil niggas calling it hell, honestly I couldn't Tell.. I was just glad pop couldn't yell, grabbing his belt cause I fucked up making the sell... So now I'm 10...mom choose the needle and a rock... I'm assuming these crackers ain't sending me back to pop... I'm enjoying the controlled environment but weary of my next stop... Now I'm in the back of a car, nervous and staring.... Two white folks in the front seat...I'm told their names foster and their my parents.... Within in a week I'm getting physically wrecked.... Told only reason a nigger under their roofs because their getting a check... Every slur, every lick, built a hunger...and it was coming a day.... These fucking honkey's will slip and I'm running away... 5 months later, opportunity...and the option was stunning.. His wallet was open, snatched 300 dollars and I was off and running... Back to the projects, moms neighborhood...and I tracked her down... Mom sorry I let you down...I got money, things'll be better now.... She kissed my forehead, said thanks baby, I'll be back, gotta run some errands.... Waiting for mom, fuck it's the cops, back to my foster parents, Mom doubled crossed me, hoe choose drugs in the street again... Back to these crackers getting my ass beat again... Back to being called a coon and a nigger.... Laughing at every slur...because soon I'll be bigger..... |
