Does thinking about death depress or motivate you?

For me it's motivation, for others I know they can't even think about it for a second or they'll turn in to emotional wrecks.

The thought of being on my death bed and really regretting not doing something I could easily have done terrifies me and sparks something in my brain that tells me to go out and do what I want to do with my life, not many other things have that effect on me.

i "fear" death all the time. not really the dying aspect, but just the fact that every time i think about dying, i am that much closer to dying. every day time goes by a little faster, and i'm just racing to infinite nothingness

Contemplating death and the shroud around it makes me feel peaceful. Death is only a problem if one can't let go of this life. As if one's life is actually theirs to begin with. It is a current that we temporarily ride, nothing is set in stone. In some ways, this subject I call me is already dead. But, I understand it makes many feel frightened. I feel more saddened because of certain others I love dying, mainly my close family members. But, in my heart I know that it is for the best. For things to blossom, they must sometimes perish first. Regeneration and decay go hand at hand.

Oddly, that's how I feel about life.
I don't think about death much at all.

Motivation. Everyone dies its a fact that cant be changed. So its either live with it or do whatever the people do who cant live with it. U can at least be a major factor in how u die and prolonging that. So be smart and remember nobody is promised tomorrow.

Thinking about death USED to give me extreme fear when I was younger.. but as time's passed by & I've lost close friends, far friends, & relatives both immediate & distant.. I've become more numb to it. I think about it & still get a bit scared by the thought, then it's immediately washed away by the thought of nature taking course. It's our inevitable fate as human beings to all die at some point. I believe in a higher power now, & I believe that higher power will uplift my spirit into a new form of being. There could never be such a thing as nothingness.

These days I cherish every day I wake up... I'm more scared of not fulfilling my destiny to the fullest.

It's why I got the tat 'Don't fear death, rather the inadequate life'.... & I truly live by the ink on my arm. I have to.
