Ive been martyred at work - forced to resign

So I go into work last week and do a handover from day to night (i worked the night shift) and the 'man' at work tells me how him and 3 other 'guards' witnessed a disabled woman get open hand slapped and kneed in the head by 2 females and a male. I proceeded to ask if they stepped in and restrained the offenders, to which he replies, "he threatened to assault me what was I suppose to do, he pulled out a syringe".

Well my bros I lost my shit. If its one thing that disgusts me more than anything else in this world it is someone picking on/hitting a disabled person, especially a woman. Now she wasn't extremely disabled as in down syndrome or the like, she was mentally disabled as in schizophrenia. So I said to him you are not a security guard, how can you be afraid when there are four guards vs two women and a scrawny junkie. I told him to get the tape off the shelf and cover up the security over his shirt cause as far as Im concerned that is a travesty, a woman being assaulted and four guards just watching cause they're scared.

So anyway after arguing with this guy he went home. I left him this picture on the whiteboard for the morning when he came back on...



So this guy comes on in the morning and sees the picture and takes a photo of it on his phone. I rubbed it off after that cause he had seen it, so in total only 3 people had seen it, me the guy who took the photo and my night shift buddy.

So I get a call off my night shift buddy who let me know that the guy planned to send the pictures off to management to rat on me for calling him a pussy.

I then go in for a 'counseling' session today at HQ and sit down in front of two accounts managers, who mind you are nice guys and are reasonable unlike most others in their position.

The managers tell me they cant let me go back to work cause I stirred the hornets nest with that picture, even though they acknowledged what I was saying was right and that I am one of their best guards. They completely agreed with where I stood morally but because that little rat sent the picture to the CLIENT, the client said get rid of him and my employer had no option because they are contracted out to them.

I just find it ironic that I presented a morale revelation to everyone and spoke out against the pussys on the team that wont even help an innocent person, and I get forced to resign.

I was gonna resign in 5 weeks anyway due to a job offer at a better work site, but its the principle of someone ratting me out that bothers me, especially when we were meant to be 'friends'. At least they are paying me for the week even though I am not working plus my accumulated holidays. Everyone ive told at work now hates this rat as well cause its the 2nd time he has done it and got someone fired.

I will say it is liberating leaving there though, I despised it with every part of my being, so as they say, one door closes another one opens.



TL;DR I got forced to resign for taking a morale high ground.
