hell yea Hush. It's very unlikely you'll be disappointed.
The plot is raw, the action is solid -- and as overly detailed and unnecessary of a breakdown as it might seem, the "character development" is the effin best since like Sopranos imo -- and perhaps even better due to the dynamics of individual relationships and overall "culture clashes" (bikers in the arms trade, gangs in the dope game, from white supremacists to the IRA to the Cartel to Suburbia in general). Just like the Sopranos, you root for the bad guys, but the bad guys you root for changes and evolves over time more than Sopranos. Just brilliant writing if one appreciates that sort of thing -- and even if they don't think they appreciate that sort of thing, they will appreciate how that brilliant writing translates to the "shock value" it brings to the show. There was a scene last season that was beyond cringe-worthy, like literally was sitting there amazed that it was on network television. SOA should be in the same conversation as Sopranos and The Wire - and come to think about it, it actually brings many of the best aspects of both of those shows together imo. |

I watch way too many shows.. Fucking insomnia man. Beside of that, I can recommend these series (some of them might not be new, but whatever..):
House of Cards - Netflix production. Dope as fuck. Dirty politics, conspiracies, dark drama. Jericho - The US gets destroyed by nuclear bombs and is basicly put back to the stone age. See how the story unfolds as the survivors try to live in a world where national safety. Justified - U.S. Marshal Raylan Gives takes the law into his hands, frontier-style, as he faces off against crooks in the Appalachian town where he grew up. Spartacus - A Thracian man is condemned to a brutal death in the arena, only to outlast his executioners and be reborn as the enslaved gladiator Spartacus. Dope as fuck, especially if you like gladiator matches and mythology etc. Special effects may be rather ''weird'' but the fights is dope as fuck imo and the story is kinda cool. Some loosely clothed bitches and soft porn scenes, what's there not to like? Blue Mountain State - You know what it is. Funny af imo. Don't get caught by hype aversion, check this shit out if you haven't. Archer - (not really that much of a fan of it myself, but I know people be loving that shit). Animation. Special agent Archer is clumsy as fuck but somehow top of the game.. Or something like that. I don't really give a fuck, but people love it so it's probably a show worth to mention. Lilyhammer - Starring and written by the allmighty Steven Van Zandt. Mafia comedy. Some mafia dude named Frank Ragliano snitches against a Mafia Boss and enters a witness protection program where he's moved to Lillehammer in Norway. Funny as fuck. The Borgias - Follow the Borgia family as they try to reign Rome by taking on the spot to become the new pope. Not as great as Spartacus, but better than Rome imo. Check it out and tell me what you think. I'd rate it at 6.5/10 on IMDB. Fringe - Modernized X-Files. Dope as fuck, some interesting cases and a thought out plot. Firefly - From 2002, the oldest recommendation in this post, but a lot of people haven't seen it. And if you're one of them it's about time you do something with it. Don't get thrown off by the first ep, watch 3 episodes and then you're allowed to form an opinion. |
