Default Non American People

what percentage of the movies in your theaters are American?

im gonna take a guess and say in English speaking places about 75%.

it must be weird to constantly watch foreign films with a strong ideation towards a culture that is not your own.

or am I completely off base here and you guys just watch Harry Potter 24/7

Try about 90%

There are a few British and Irish movies but it's pretty much the same shit you guys get, i don't get what you mean about the culture thing because how is it that much of a change? Everything that begins in America and gets big ends up here anyway, i don't think it's that much of a cultural change, definitely not enough to ruin a movie. If a movie is good it is good, doesn't matter where it is from, and the best movies are made in America so it only makes sense that the majority of what we watch would be American, it's the best out there.

75% is probably about right... maybe even more.... certainly the percentage of movies that I actually go to see that are American is more

It's not that weird... all Western culture is pretty similar... the type of characters we find appealing, the themes we are interested in, what we consider good/bad about a person.... it's just minor details that differ

I see what your saying. what I really meant was , most American movies take place here. that is the setting that they are in.

and I don't think someone from Ireland could watch Good Fellas for instance and fully appreciate whats going on. just like I cant watch Train Spotting and fully now what the fuck they are talking about.

which brings me to accents. I could barely understand people from Scotland, Ireland, England. I was trying to watch a British movie the other night and me and my wife were like , I have no fucking clue what they are saying through that accent.

its just weird to me that you guys have to put up with that 90% of the time.

I was really trying to walk them down a road of how Western Culture is really just American Culture and we spread it through movies. the Americanization of the World is in full effect. they don't even realize it.

they don't even see American movies as foreign films. or our accents as unusual.

I was going to then try to make them process that if they emulate us readily and acceptably why do they claim to at the same time hate us

but they didn't take the bait. fuckers

yea, i didn't see that angle coming -- though i think your perceived lack of success can be directly attributed to lack of patience my friend

i'd be a fucking damn good troll if my heart ever turns dark again lol

Not saying being drunk doesn’t mess up you reasoning. I’m turning 20 soon so I haven’t had a drink ever.
