Saving private Ryan is my #1

I cant really rank it against band of brothers as it is a series but if i HAD to I would say its better.

Its more about the war within the minds of the soldiers and how it makes men turn into psychopaths. Its WW2 based in the south Pacific fighting the Japs. The Japs also play a really good part, they aren't portrayed as 'the bad guys' like the Nazis in most WW2 films, but equal men who happen to be on the opposing side.

Here is a quote from a dead Jap soldier in the film;

Are you righteous? Kind? Does your confidence lie in this? Are you loved by all? Know that I was, too. Do you imagine your sufferings will be less because you loved goodness? Truth?
