Dear mama,
Despite all the drama dad caused since you died,
I've never forgot you, every September I've cried.
I'd go through hell to see you and really the fact is,
I gotta pink ribbon on my arm that says "mom" tatted.
You motivated me to be a man,
I often hated to understand,
That you taught me life's lessons with a firm but loving hand.
Sandra Kuhn, I thought you left us too soon,
Now I'm realizing it was perfect timing as I'm staring at the moon.
Everything you showed me I've shown unto others,
So with tears in my eyes I pray to tell you that you're a grandmother.
My daughter was born,
11 days before the anniversary of your death,
I cried harder than when you died, like you were reborn with her first breath.
The doctor handed her to me and a chill went through me,
Like the circle of life,
I stared death in the face and my daughter cried mutely.
The heartbreak worsens cuz I wish you coulda seen her in person on September seventh
But now I gotta angel in my arms...and you up in heaven.
Sandra Lee Kuhn I'd like you to meet Aaliyah Cassandra Kuhn, your grand baby,
I love you both beyond words, cuz that's the way that you raised me.
