There was definitely a lot you could nit pick. Arya's travel time and lack of recuperation. Also, how did she get a face? I thought she told the Faceless Men to GTFO, maybe I misread the scene and she's just a freelancer? Perchance she just stashed mad faces when Jhaqen wasn't looking? Whatever. Also, Varys is clones now. What happened with Euron? I know his story line will feature next season but I thought it'd be a bit more prominent. The Hand of the King, and Tyrion shoehorning 'game', felt so fan-servicey that I cringed. NOT A HUGE CRINGE. 20% CRINGE. Might be one or two things I've forgot. They jammed so much in that it couldn't breathe.

Shit was dope, bruh. Seeing the ships finally (finally) sailing for Westeros, and Drogon sweeping in. Just: fuck bruh. Cersei going full God Mode. R+L+J. Jaime and Walder's exchange. That piano score bleeding in and out during the entire 30 minute King's Landing scene. The shit-version Sand Snakes getting BTFO by Olenna. So many damn payoffs.

On balance I still think this has been the weakest season of the show, but it had, arguably, the best ending. Last two episodes contend with any two episode stretch of the series. Nailed the fucking ending.

It's not the GOAT show but it'll go down as a classic and as the best genre show ever made.

Also I am glad they are saving Euron's plot for next season since it's all about the Night King on one side and Dany on the other. Having the wall come down this ep would have just been too much plot.

I think we all pretty much knew 2 things for sure...

#1- We knew there was Wildfire on deck and shit was going down

#2- They would elaborate on Jon Snow's birth

^so yeah, those things were predictable, but still nicely done.


I really wasn't expecting them to even have Jon or Sansa in this episode at all after Battle of the Bastards (I figured they'd wait until next season tbh) so the whole King of The North scene with Littlefinger looking like a total hater was very nicely done to me.

Cersei went in on this episode though, that bitch is still raw.

Yo, actuallu something has been bugging me since like season 1 or 2. Did we ever find out who the real grand maester was? I remember a very short scene where dude appeared to be younger in actuality and was just dressing like the old guy. But when dude got stabbed to death i was hoping they'd tell us who he was. I think the dark wizard or whatever his name is that brought back the mountain even paused for a second after dude died like i was waiting for him to be like "oh shit, he's really THIS DUDE".

I dunno, think I'm gonna rewatch the whole series soon.

i'm not sure what you're referring to. that was grand maester pycelle though. he was the maester in kings landing the entire time the series has been going. i dont remember any younger ones? unless they were in another city.

have we figured out what happened to the horn of winter though? i think thats what it was called. i'm pretty sure in the books mance rayder had it in his tent when stannis showed up and smashed them. i don't remember if it was in the show though, and if it was, where is it now?

doesn't it wash the magic from the wall basically, and allow the white walkers to pass through?

You're referring to the scene where we see him in his bedroom ostensibly right after fucking a whore, where he does some mini-calisthenics and is generally much more limber than he puts on, right? The point of that scene was to show that his 'fragile, decrepit old man' persona is ruse. The point of that ruse is for people to underestimate him, basically. Also to show the viewer that he's a player within the machinations of the show, due to his ability to connive.

@uh oh I'm pretty sure the horn was shown in the show? I can't remember specifically. But yeah the horn supposedly brings down the wall but it's not confirmed.

so a little googling on the horn has me HMHMHM'ing.

the horn mance had in the books was allegedly fake, and burned along with him. (by him i mean rattleshirt/lord of bones, because melisandre didnt burn mance in the books? i forget all this shit.) but anyways tormund said it was a fake, they found it in a giants grave, and since it was big and crazy or whatever just told them it was it as a tactic like yo just give up the wall or we'll blow this fucker in three days. that said, it did burn all yellow and green and weird, and had old runes carved into it, but again it could just be some old giant magic. not horn of winter magic.

from some youtube comments i read some interesting things i can't confirm because again, i have the memory of a retarded circus seal. but allegedly sam still has that horn, and now he's in oldtown. i don't remember sam ever carrying a horn around? but anyways, it could make sense that its the horn of winter, and bran time traveled with his greenseer shit, and put it there for them to find on the fist of the firstmen. it was covered/surrounded in dragonglass which would stop the others/white walkers from using it.

assuming sam still has it, i don't know how the wall will come down. UNLESS he left it with gilly da halfwit, and gillys dumb inbred son blows it
