should i buy an AR 15 this week?

gunshop by my work has the dope colt ones for 1000. i got the money. seriously debating it

i've never bought a gun through government means though. like with background checks and shit. i'm not sure what it all entails, i think its just a criminal background check right? all i have are a couple assaults as a minor, that doesn't transfer into adulthood right?

i just wanna get one before my right to get one is taken away. also if i buy one in this fashion, and not at a gun show, is it possible for them to come take it? like if they make it illegal, not in a national guard katrina situation because they would obviously take it then.
