4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
The law they are talking about is the law given to them by moses.

in old time the Nicolaitans, I set of christians that believe you didn't have to follow the laws of moses, all you needed was love in your heart, and to love your neighbor as yourself
alot of christians were deceived by this doctrine, in so much the lord brought it up in revelations
