trump signed the first step act into law

basically lessening alot of shit in relation to nonviolent drug offenses, shit with how they stack weapons possessions on top of it, helps them get out early on good behavior etc etc.

granted that doesn't fix the system, but i lean much more towards "just don't break the law" than i do make prisons a great place to be.

but i don't believe in prisons in the first place. if you committed a crime bad enough to be removed from society, you should be removed from society*. not locked away in the hopes of somehow becoming better.

if you committed a crime where some punishment is needed but not death, than there should be a rehabilitation process, but during which you should be heavily screened and if you reoffend you should be removed from society*.
