im 23 lol

and word i used to do the same shit back when i was 17-18 but i was just sanding. this place is smaller and i do more. and word thats what im saying im learning all that now. i like maaco tho its dope. i'm sure regular body shops are cool but i mean you can make good money at maaco too when your an official body man or a painter. our painter is on vacation right now in his RV and shit with his boat. looking to buy a house. one of the bodymen has his own little shop at his place and has good money

its simple work, its just actual work.

and word dirtiest i get usually is just all sand dusted and shit. today i just got filthy cuz i was cleaning out the booth

the thing with maaco is they're a production shop. they do as much as possible, the whole goal is to paint XX amount of cars a week and keep it moving. you can also get your shit detailed or whatever too but, like this shop we do about 25 a week. thats complete paint jobs and just spot jobs. like if somethings wrecked but its new they might just be getting a new bumper and fender we install and paint to match the rest of it. while that sounds like alot its not for a maaco. its average at best. the one i worked at in akron was doing 40ish, which is mainly why i only sanded. shit was assembly line status. out the body shop ready to be buzzed down, sand and blow and clean it, then the taper tapes it and it gets painted. constant shit. this one is more of a move around type deal. do a little body work. sand it. do a little taping. sometimes help detail shit etc.

the older dudes are teaching me so i'm good.

my pops was making 60k at one time just running a maaco. he'd help detail somewhat if something needed precision shit to fix something, but it was basically alot of walking around making sure everyone was doing what they should be doing.

60k is ridiculous to me when the 20 im making before taxes is enough to live off of. i mean i wouldnt be balling out but i could pay bills easy and eat etc with what i'm making now.
