and no, chicago had a great blues and big band scene, but by the mid 40s the east coast had the majority of big names because that's where it paid and thats were the best teachers were. its always been about money, so plenty of dudes went plenty places... but dont make this a quasi-objective argument. if you're serious, add me on aim and we can go all out in music history. or keep gang bangin from a library.
