My baby momma came to me the other day
eyes swell from tears
she told me she had been fired from a job she held for years
rent was due, and the baby needed some shoes
this bitch was really bleeding the blues
her other baby daddy just started a bid
cocaine smuggling had taken him apart from his kid
she told me her bills ran as long as her arm and in stages
I nodded and informed her that they had tarnished my wages
she agreed that i was bad to the bone
but at the same time asked for a loan
she started to weep and glared at the floor
"Please, I can't take these scares anymore"
I stared at her strained face, the stress glued her soul
I'd broken a woman about to lose control
three children in a house with no lights or water
using sleep to hide the guise of slaughter
I sighed and told her "I'd give you money if I had any..."
however I told her, I didnt have a penny...
She sobbed loudly when she heard the news
and begged to me can this absurd be true
alas, "it was" was all the most I could muster
we embraced, it was an emotional cluster
I watched her stumble down to the bus stop
three children deep and steadily crying above "god!"
I admit for a second I felt a lump in my throat
she was a good woman trying to not slump in the boat
I dug in my pocket and observed my phone
dialed a few numbers when I heard the tone
"Foot locker, you got them new jordans today?"
the man said "yes!"
and I was for sure on my way.
