its more dlike compulsive behaviour in attempt to cover up underlying issues you'd rather not, or feel unable to, deal with
by your logic, a nigga with an endless bankroll cant be addicted to gambling. he can. he wont suffer the financial consequences, sure, external. but all addictions from an internal unrest.
