Yeah man I only collected basketball cards... my parents even though we were poor must’ve spent thousands and thousands of $ on basketball cards, going through the grocery line and what not.

Even though I didn’t collect baseball I got a Ken Griffey Jr card the original rookie.

I still remember my favorite card and probably worth the most other than the ken Griffey.... let me see if I can find a picture.

And I had most of the beam team series from that year etc. When I was broke I took my 2 card books to multiple sports memorabilia places and basically they were like... we’ll give you 75$ and I was like cool, for which card? They said for your whole collection.

I was basically offended like you can’t be serious.. dude said yeah 10 years ago your collection would’ve been worth a few thousand $ easily, but check the sign we’re going out of business in a few months.. it’s not worth shit now.

Needless to say as desperate as I was, I’m not selling years and years of my childhood for $75. I’m 35 now... I was probably 21-23 or so when I tried to sell them.
