I'll give you a breakdown fin.

So if i'm using a break I generally will chop it instead of looping it. Basically same way you would a sample. Chop on the transient so you can get some variation out of it. It's actually easier than chopping the sample because there's so much open space in it. Everything on this works. It's just slow for me. I tapped it out and see it's around 75bpm. If i'm going that slow I'm going to need some major variation in it. The vocal melody thing is cool for what it is...but I feel it needs some more sounds on it. A bass would have saved it most likely. Beats cool...it just seems unfinished. Mine wasn't much better and I for sure didn't like the sample. Had to tweak the fuck out of it to get some sounds from it that I liked...but then I added some keys under it to get something else in there.
