It's definitely a gamble, but might work out for the dems favor
They were never going to get that 43ish% to flip for any candidate that has a chance in the primary. They've definitely helped out his fundraising but I don't think they've lost votes (per se) just yet. Looks like a play for the 15% of the electorate that disapproves of Trump and impeachment. Considering their block probably won't budge, they're probably figuring they can shore up just enough from that middle ground to rebuild the blue wall by airing out everything they can, and worst case scenario, they have over a year to rebrand themselves if it really starts to backfire
Looking forward to the arguments of 'holding up the government' from people who were fine when it was Obama and 'Clinton got impeached for a bj' by people the Clintons have their space lasers trained to
