I think Bernie sees being a 'spoiler' candidate as a detriment to his brand... And let's be real... 2015-present Bernie is hugely brand oriented

But I think there's bigger differences between Hillary and Biden on public persona than man/woman. You'd be hard pressed to find anyone the right loves to hate more than her, which shored up their base heavily. Combine that negative coverage (founded, unfounded alike) with Obama being an extension of Bush in too many big ways (tho I think Barry did okay, little disappointed he didn't bring about the end times with gay commie death panels but w/e) and you have Hillary's biggest pro being 'vote for me and the other guy can't win' which is no way to energize a voting population in purple states


Worst part of 2016 (remains to be seen how bad SC turns out) has to be another step away from national popular vote THO


But yeah, Biden =/= Hillary
