I'd recommend Thailand though. You could rent a house with cooks, maid staff, and even have a few prostitutes to live at the house with you...and you'd STILL have difficulty spending $1000 including the cost of food and booze for yourself and everyone at the house.
Canada always seemed like a lame vacation spot to me since its so close, is it noticeably different from the U.S.? I figure predominantly french places like Montreal would be the best place to go for a different cultural experience
