lmao respect is earned, not given. thats how i was raised at least.
if you want ppl to respect you, you have to show and prove. start small. run a fight night. run a write week. a keystyle tourney. just something quick anyone can get involved with. run a small 8-man tourney and show ppl you mean business by creating a buzz around it. signups shouldnt take any more than a day or two otherwise interests wains early on and its sure to flop. make it fun. run it correctly, hype up the threads and the battlers involved. cyphers/roasts for the down periods between battle threads going up and verses being posted. you put up threads on time, every week, when you say you will. you write bomb ass mags like they've never been done better. no slacking. do it. if ppl see it being ran with love and passion, they'll support it. personally i tend to select those with a proven track record of showing/voting for my tourneys/leagues over any "names". i also give preference to ppl who voted (but werent involved) on battles in tourneys i ran - just because again, they helped me out so i show them love back. i'm a very fair man. i got no allegiances in this shit, i like to think i make good calls as mod when theres decisions to be made and i hardly ever make knee jerk reactions without thinking the scenario through. thats just me though. its not hard to run these things correctly, it should be fun and thats paramount, but the figurehead at the helm has to understand that if they start slacking it sets a bad example for all involved and everythings downhill from there.
