Aero is right. Starting over always helps. Thing is, he's come back home to where he may still have issues - he just needs to learn how to balance life. I think he'll be ok. As long as he stays away from the bullshit. Considering he was depressed, fat and down at home - and has this more confident esteem going for himself - it may work out for the better or the worse depending on how he presents himself.
