I don't like it. even behind closed doors I don't like it. aside from even the obvious traditional views I don't like this entire approach because she is also pressuring you to propose now. Its manipulative and imho harmful to the relationship to put this stigma over everything now.

I would react to this heavy handed and eliminate the idea entirely.....which it seems like you attempted to do by telling her youd move out....I guess it depends how convincing you were and or if you meant it.

another thing to consider.....are you at a point where you want to propose currently? you said you wanted to have children with her if Iirc?
