far as black thought goes, besides his pen, if you factor in, performance, voice projection, breath control, timing, word placement, flow, lyrical prowness, freestyle, an what his peers say about him.......and all types of other shit, he's the best and I have to say that. Being a writer myself and noticing all the intricate shit that gets missed by your average listener, dissecting his style, you really can appreciate just how profound this dude is, and pulls it off effortlessly it sounds. ..He's probably better than anyone.

His story is pretty crazy too, super fucked up childhood and had every excuse in the book to be yah average in jail super thugged out nigga. Instead he's a family man, super humble dude, member of one of the best hip hop band and if he boasted like the others he'd have the sauce to back it up, but he's just super chill.

I remember back in like 98 niggas was talking about him being top 10, I was like hell no, I mean I didn't really check for him outside the regular singles on TV and shit, then the Big Pun feature, thought he held his own comfortably.

I consider myself a true hip hop head but almost felt like I knew nothing when Black Thought dropped that freestyle on Funk Flex. I said a few years back I thought he had verse of the year on Prhyme's Wishin II. I almost thank god I slept on this dude for almost 20 years because in this day and age of lyrical bullshit it was like I was supposed to sleep on this dude so I'd have an endless supply of untapped greatness to enjoy in a time where it's needed most.
