Meditate on being aware of your thoughts for about 20 minutes, then feel the sensations of your body, then look for vibration. Grab the vibration, hold it and dont let go. Then start thinking about being self aware again, watch you body from above our just outside of it.
Or you could Lucid Dream with astral projection and go much more in depth with little control.
Go to sleep, wake up at 2 Am -4 Am or in the PM... And stay awake for about 10 minutes write down your dreams or something. Then go to sleep but focus on staying awake, keep your arms uncomfortable at your sides or something; dont move your body, dont even swallow if possible. Dont worry if you itch or something and mess up just try again.
Your gonna wanna just sleep and give up, turn on your side or something. Dont, that's your body tricking you testing to see if your asleep yet. But your mind isn't with full control of the body at this generation and you cant tell you body what your feeling. Just stay awake and close your eyes, stay self aware and dont forget what your trying to do.
