i literally sprained my MCL a few weeks ago and if i attempted to stretch that motherfucker my leg would have fallen off for the first week. i could barely walk. it's been three weeks now and it's still tweaked.
rest, ice, compression, elevation is the way to go as mentioned, for the first week at least, ice is less important after the initial three or four days unless you need to numb it -- after that begin focusing on the range of motion/mobility (gently) to see how crippled you are. anti-inflammatory shit is sound (gels over tablets because target area) but they're mostly just cope.
the real tip is - if you don't want to seek medical advice - google fu that shit and don't ask anyone here. you'll have morons telling you to stretch a fresh injury.
also, i know uh-oh is a self-destructive mongrel but allow this 'at your age' bullshit you motherfuckers. late 20's is generally a man's prime.
