Predictions
by Sharp Nine & Knuck
Champ Match: Knucklehead vs. Shank Sinatra
Sharp Nine: Should be pretty nice, both guys are pretty consistent and have solid wins and showings behind them. I have Knuck taking this one with a lot more experience behind him, but Shank is definitely capable of pulling an upset if Knuck doesn’t bring it.
Knucklehead: 65/35
Cashius vs. Untold
Sharp Nine: Another dope one. Most of Untold’s battles have been against dudes a lil below his caliber, should be good seeing him against some heavy competition. Cashius can bring it, he’s just been a part of two close and dope battles and I’m expecting this one to be similar. All in all I think Cash is stronger and should take this one, though it could be pretty tight.
Cashius: 70/30
Knucklehead: This is gonna be really dope. Cashius is one of the best battlers on the site at the moment, in my honest opinion. Thought GoW was crazy for putting him in the top 5 before he even battled in the earlier weeks, but I see why. Untold is dope as well though. He has some hard bars and is always consistent, not many misses, even if some bars aren't great they are quotable. Thing is, Cashius is the same way. I'm calling this as BOTW if both come with their A game. For the experience side of things, I'll go ahead and say...
Cashius: 60/40
Defiant vs. Edgar AlPo
Sharp Nine: Edgar’s been on a bit of a streak lately, winning his last two while Defiant’s been in and out of the league. That said, when Defiant shows its solid at the very least while Edgar isn’t always so hot. I have Def taking it since he’s generally been a better battler. While Chyeah’s flow-y style stuff can be an easy read, Def’s punches are generally a lot more hard-hitting.
Defiant: 75/25
Knucklehead: This is a hard one to call tbh. Defiant has been around for awhile, but can hurt with some simple punches that ruin his consistency. And most of his standouts are usually statementish. Chyeahhh was always a joke to me on NC1.. but I saw some stuff I liked from him in the cypher last week. He has the mind to create some dope bars, his problem is he does his verses like cyphers and has a lot of random nonsense bars in them, with a few nice ones. If he focuses and polishes his verse and edits out bad shit and replaces it, he could win this. I don't see him taking that extra step just yet though, so I'm gonna go with..
Defiant: 65/35
God of War vs. Strikta
Sharp Nine: Dope and my personal pick for BOTW. If both of these guys show it’s definitely gonna be a tight battle. Strik’s been having some cool battles but a few issues with voting, while GoW isn’t always the most consistent with showing. But if both show with their best, this is bound to be dope. Could really see this going either way, too close to call for me.
Either way: 50/50
Knucklehead: This will be awesome if it goes down. All jokes aside Strikta can drop fire. IMO, he is a bit inconsistent and some of his stuff I don't love, but he gets votes for some of it so maybe it's just me. Regardless, when he drops nice, it is top tier shit. He has without question gotten the short end of the stick lately in close matches. GoW is one of the best ever though. This is the dude who champed back to back NBL seasons, and not just later ones, the FIRST two seasons. HOF on NC, and well deserved. He hasn't battled lately though, so you never know. I feel like talent like that doesn't fade easily though. Big toss up, I'll say comparing legend levels..
God of War: 60/40
Utmost vs. Patrick
Sharp Nine: Good to see both of these guys back in the league, this’ll definitely be a cool battle. Both are capable of cool showings, but I’d edge it to Patrick for being more experienced. Utmost is probably capable of the upset, so Pat shouldn’t sleep on him.
Patrick: 70/30
Knucklehead: This will be dope. Was pretty dissappointed when they signed out, now with them both back we'll see who is gonna return with a bang. Swerve I always thought was good even though he didn't get huge respect on NC1 when I was there. Cool bars with a simple but harsh style, while still being able to bring some complex shit. Pretty similar to Striktas style to me. Utmost is good as well, can't recall any specific stuff of his though. For that, I'm going with..
Patrick: 70/30
Jay vs. CTRL Alt Elite
Sharp Nine: These two both have a lot of potential to do damage in the league. Both coming off pretty decisive wins, both bring a lot of cool ideas and experience. I have to give the personal edge to Jay on preference alone, but I could see either one taking this.
Jay: 55/45
Knucklehead: Cool one, some nice lines will come out of this. Ctrl is one of my favorite battlers from RB, but he seemed a bit rusty judging by last week. He will most likely shake it off this week. Jay is an alias from RB, I think people know who he is now if not won't tell. He was cool there though. Liked Ctrl more on there for just raw bars, and gonna have to go with him here. Jay has the tools to beat him though, so we will see how it turns out.
Ctrl Alt Elite: 65/35
fathead vs. Pryde
Sharp Nine: Should be an okay battle. fathead’s getting ever closer to a decent verse, concepts and wording have come along in a short time. Pryde’s got a lot more experience with him and is still capable of putting out some good verses. Overall I see Pryde as the much stronger battler and give him a decent edge in this matchup.
Pryde: 75/25
Knucklehead: Garbageeee tbh. Who knows though. Fathead still NEEDS to peep the tutoring section, he has to improve. Those keystyle LetsBeef verses are not cutting it. Pryde knows what to do but doesn't always do it well. He will most likely win with 1-2 quotables.
Pryde: 70/30
