Summers spent like Huckle Finn. For months on end we’d have
daily games of H-O-R-S-E on a faded, aging court.
Play-by-play reports by the players playing. Scores
kept in your head… The rain delayed no sport.
Tire-swings tied to trees where forts resided. These were norms
provided me. July; we’d treat the fourth to Hide-and-Seek and S’mores.
