Interview with Vadik aka Edward Lake
Allah: so Vadik, what brought you to the WBL?
Vadik: I've been looking around for a bit.. there's mad Dutch people on the site that I know..they used to talk to me about the site. Richard Corey was a noisemaker in the RSTL and he repped hard.. the combination of that brought me to b-boys and the WBL just started to pick up pace around that time.. I, relieved that there was a good league on the net after all, decided to join. The rest is history... my god that sounded homo..
Allah: haha. and how has your experience in the WBL been so far?
Vadik: I'm still rusty. The comp is pretty fuckin nice.. I can see people holding back though. Resin being one of them. But I need to step up my game. The verse vs. Deon was pretty nice, and I dropped a few good lines in other battles, but yeah... I need to shake off more rust. You know what I like about the WBL? The raw lyricism feeling.. RC plays a big part in that so kudos to him. Everything gets appreciated here if you showcase skill.. it doesn't matter if you're digging up personals, dropping snapbook punches or whatever.. it's all good. Plus you gotta love the mag.. your dedication to the leauge is up there with RBL mods back in 2002.. that's ill.
Allah: haha word. thanks man, and your verse vs hotdog was pretty nice, you did pretty good against shake last week too, props to you man. So whats this about not being about to show this week vs Tony Elbow? will you be back soon?
Vadik: I'm going on a short trip to France in a few hours.. I'll most likely be back Thursday but I probably won't have time to write. Plus I hope that all them stories about French chicks are true, gotta find out right.. and if my game shuts down completely, I'll jot down a punchline or two on the rubbers. I'll be back in the WBL the week after that I guess.. I don't really care about my record anymore so I can sign in regardless of any rust..chea.
Allah: word. cool. sounds cool and fun. So who are your top ten WBL heads at the moment and why
Vadik: In pretty random order:
1. Richard Corey. His attitude says it all really. He deserved the title a long ass time ago and he's finally gotten it. Props to him.
2. Resin. He's the only one to make me spit out coke and spill it over my keyboard and shit. We know each other since he first came on RM and it's fun to see him take over.
3. Sezsion. He's a beast. Don't be mistaken.
4. ARMZ. Consistent as fuck. Can run through a series of opponents like whoa. He's passionate about this shit, I can tell.
5. Storm-G. He is in my top 10 ever list for a reason. He's probably the only textcee to be in his prime at 14.. and he's still got it..I can see spurts of the Storm of old in each verse right now..
6. Lunch Lady. I don't know who he is.. shit I don't even care, but he's dropping some dope shit.. props. You should be in the top 10 for a lil while.
7. My handsome self. Cause I'm that dope. Plus I'm the best foreign textcee ever.
8. Tony Elbow. He's the type of dude that makes you scared to pop weird shit, cause he'll find it and haunt you with it lol..
9. Mercules. Not because he's so good, but because he's improving rapidly.. It's cool to watch..
10. Ouch. Cause I'm feeling his damn style.
Allah: word. so lets step away from the WBL for a sec. what has mr. vadik established. what battles have you won that your most proud of ect. basically what are you most proud of in your text career, give us as much as you got.
Vadik: Made PBA 2 playoffs. got Creaticled there though.. Shut out Radius in the regular season. [If you don't know who Radius is, kill your fuckin self]..becoming RSTL champ. Almost beating Fracture in the PXI. RSTL tourney semi-finalist, twice [beating people like L Dogg, Nique, Tekneek and others]. Tagteam champion at flowdoctors. A whole lot of shit at Dutch sites y'all don't care about..umm.. RBL top 5 more than once, never won the title though lol. I racked up some cute 10-2, 14-3 records and shit though..fucked around on some other small sites but this is the most interesting shit I guess. I don't really follow track of all my achievements but it's all good. I've been holding it down since 2000 and that's good enough for me.
Allah: word, true true, didnt you beat fracture in a match and lose because of not posting links or something? I remember seeing your verse in that match, it was pretty nice.
Vadik: Yeah. I was in a hurry.. I might even have voted but I didn't post links. So de facto, I beat Frac. But technically, I didn't. Oh well. He's still Kurt Angle in his RBL 2002 days to me. *pinches his cheek*
Allah: you like using pics, and your better when you do, do you think its because of a lack of creativity?
Vadik: Partially. The whole punchline thing is getting harder..everything's played nowadays. I like to attack people from all angles. Pics, audio's, aim convos, anything. Prolly comes from the battling I do offline.. if you don't clown dudes on some daamn you look like Krusty the clown shit, you're losing. I try to bang out some wordplay lines though.
Allah: so you do real life battles? tell us about that
Vadik: Well my folks need some proper sonnage once in a while so I give it to em..ha. Plus I used to be mad fuckin ugly.. I could do this shit and totally catch em off guard. I don't spit that often though.. Battling in Holland is not evolved like it is in America.. they worship the ground Jin walks on over here... I think he's aiight.. but you feel me on the difference? There's probably like 15 good freestyle battlers around. And I'm not one of em. I'll clown you on the corner or wherever, but I get too nervous on stage.
Allah: word. you used to be ugly? is there any proof of you being sexy now?

Allah: . lol, whats this whole thing about you retiring from hip hop on RM?
Vadik: It was an experiment. It wasn't real when I made the post in the first place. I wanted to spark up a debate that would keep heads talking.. so I had to speak on it from a racial point of view. It didn't work out though.. and it was ammo for Shake. Dammit.
Allah: ha. true. what do you think so far about the WBL event coming up, WBL "On The Line", I think your gonna be a part of it, but what are your thoughts on this event thats gonna take place july 31
Vadik: I like it. Anything fresh is good.. this is fresh so this is good.. I might be a part of it, I'm not gonna tell though.. you'll see. Some nasty uppercuts will be given.. I can guarantee you that.

Vadik: There's only a few people on this site who can touch me topically.. that's all. I'm versatile as fuck if you ain't know. Gotta few short statements to make though.
1. People claiming gangstas ain't online posting on forums are stupid.. they're here.

Predictions
1. Richard Corey (14-6) vs. 2. shake-zula (17-5)
Shake is dope, and like I always say inconsistent, he’ll drop nice one week and then not so not the next, hes even said himself that he doesn’t drop too good against nice/dope heads, I guess its because he gets nervous or something. But Richard Corey is on a role, and like I said last week I don’t see him losing the belt until Ouch comes and takes it from him, meaning next week, Richard will win this, it will be a dope match, but RC will be champ until next week.
3. Scorch (9-3) vs. 4. Ouch (15-6)
Scorch has a few no show wins, He beat Mic Booth once, a few weeks back, and that’s not something to be taken lightly, but I don’t see scorch beating ouch, unless ouch really half asses, I mean he’d have to drop extremely horrible to lose to Scorch, no offense to scorch, but Ouch is dope, and he will win if he shows, theres no question about this, this will be one sided, scorch could prove me wrong, but I seriously doubt it.
5. timevirus (7-1) vs. 6. Mundicide (11-6)
Mundicide has said a few times that time virus is his favorite Battler, so now it’s the man vs. the fan, lol. But Mundicide is dope, its just that time virus is doper, tv always kills it with the flow and dope punches, along with the nice wording, I don’t see mundicide winning this, mundicide is inconsistent like shake, he’ll drop nice one week and not try the next, time virus always tries, he treats everyone the same, and hes gonna win this mad easy, this is tv all the way, TV’s not too motivated though, hes losing faith in the way people vote these days, and I cant say I blame him. But timevirus will win this
7. SezsioN (6-0) vs. 8. ClasSick (15-4)
Their gonna go 50 lines each and they’ve been talking shit to each other for a while now, last time they battled was in the battle arena. Sez won by a few votes but it was a lot closer than the votes mad it look. Sezsion seems like he really wants to win this, hes been asking for it more than Allstarz77’s comeback. Im guessing both will use each others pic, which will be dope since both are kinda sexy. Anyways this could go either way, it just depends on which style people will feel more, both are former WBL champions, both have had a huge impact on this site. This match is gonna be sick, I hope they live up to the hype, I predict it goes to like 5-5 and whoever votes last will vote for either.. Its gonna be that close.
9. ARMZ (5-1) vs. 10. Resin M-I-C (9-1)
They’ve battled before, ARMZ didn’t try the last time, or so it seems. It was Resin’s first match in the WBL, and Resin won the match pretty easy with getting almost all the votes. But this match is gonna be crazy. ARMZ has elevated a lot since their last battle and Resin said that ARMZ vs. RC was the best match hes seen since hes come to b-boys, which says a lot, especially since he voted for ARMZ. Both of they dudes respect each other, and both knows what the other can do. I see it going either way but I think Resin M-I-C will come out with the win, Resin tends to have a bunch of OH SHIT punches, ARMZ does too, but not as much. ARMZ has been going through wars in the WBL though. I mean, first ouch, then timevirus, then Richard corey and now Resin M-I-C?, holy shit, that’s tough, I think ARMZ is tired, Resin is fresh, hes had a couple of weeks off, Resin will take it, maybe not by much though.
11. Mic Booth (7-3) vs. 12. Da sein (7-7)
Da Sein has gotten like 5-6 no show wins, lol. This past week wasn’t an exception, Mic Booth on the other hand has gotten most of his losses from no shows, this is gonna be one sided as fuck. Mic Booth is gonna have dope and fresh wordplay, Da Sein is gonna try to have the same but is gonna fail and have forced and played wordplay instead, I dunno, I don’t see Da Sein even coming close in this match. Mic Booth all the way here.
13. Tony Elbow (5-1) vs. 14. Vadik (5-2)
Vadik said he might not be able to show, no he said he wont be able to show, which is said because I really wanted to see this, both are dope and both have been getting back into form, I expected to get most of next weeks top punches from here, but it looks like this match isn’t gonna happen.
15. Mercules (4-1) vs. 16. name goes here (9-7)
Mercules has been getting better, last week he shocked me with a couple of bars, I was like wtf. Anyways name is dope but he hasn’t been trying at all lately, I hope he stops half assing, but I doubt hes gonna try, I see name underestimating mercules and hurting himself in the process, I think mercules is gonna sneak up on name and snatch the win, even though name is the better battler.
17. storm-g (3-0) vs. 18. Lunch Lady (3-1)
Storm-g’s getting back into shape, but Lunch is pretty nice, and is prolly pissed because of the lost he got last week in such a close match, a match in which after I voted for tv, thought lunch had won hours later, but didn’t change my vote cause that would be a gay thing to do, anyways yea, Lunch is gonna take this, not easily though, storm-g is no push over and hes been dropping better every week, but storm will get his first lost this week.
19. Sound (5-2) vs. 20. Sin City (8-8)
Sound is better but sin is no push over, sin had some pretty good stuff last week against guile I still think sound is gonna win this though, Sound has been improving a lot as the weeks go bye, sound’s just the better battler here, but this will be kinda closer.
21. Young Philly (3-2) vs. 22. Phryme (2-1)
Phryme is good but Young Philly is better, and I think Philly is pissed that he lost last week to tony elbow, who he thought bit a line in his verse. Philly can only blame himself though for feeding, b-boys hates feeding, if you feed even if its not against the rules to feed, you will lose, why? Because we think its gay as fuck. As long as Philly doesn’t OD on clichés and doesn’t feed he should win this pretty easily.
23. HotDogVendorMan (5-3) vs. 24. asphyxia (2-3)
HotDog’s the better battler here and will win this, asphyxia been pissing off a lot of people with his voting, so even if this is close as fuck, many the voters will say that hotdog took it easily, asphyxia needs to stop pissing heads off, for real.
25. Defcon_5 (3-2) vs. 26. SirusX (1-3)
Defcon is better and is going to win, Sirus is cool but I don’t see him winning this. Defcon’s gonna get his 4th win for sure. I think defcon is getting back into form as some of the other heads. I see him knocking rust off, especially in that storm-g battle he has. Def’s gonna be nice again soon.
27. Jacent (1-1) vs. 28. Biter (2-1)
Jacent is pretty cool, and has been winning in the RBL lately, but Biter is better, Biter didn’t do too good last week with a forest/forced forced wordplay line. But I think he realizes what he did wrong and wont do it again, Biter will take this, it will be close though, but biter is better.
29. PaV. (1-1) vs. 30. realism (3-3)
Im not sure what to say or who to pick here, it could go either way, but Im gonna lean towards Pav. Since hes been around longer, experience should win this for him, realism isn’t bad though, but yea, I got Pav.
31. rezarect (3-3) vs. 32. bad intentionz (1-1)
This will be close, but rezarect is way better than bad, its just that hes rusty, but then again so is bad. It wont be the best battle, but yea Reza will take this, I don’t see how bad could get a win outta this.
33. seph (3-6) vs. 34. Pharric (1-2)
Pharric has gotten better, his record doesn’t show it, seph has gone down hill though, maybe he isn’t trying, but yea I got Pharric taking this.
35. Aces Full (1-0) vs. 36. I.Close (1-0)
I.Close is pretty good, last week he shocked me with a couple of lines, Aces is better though, Aces will take this easily if he doesn’t underestimate I.Close. Aces even got fractures attention last week. Fract said aces is killing it in the WBL.
37. super g0d (1-0) vs. 38. Roger Glocks (1-0)
Roger glock has been sneaking up on heads, Im not sure if Super is gonna try, but if he does he should win this easy, Super’s Mexican roots will help him spice this shit up and win it.
39. Jay Walker (1-0) vs. 40. Ace7 (0-1)
Ace7 will win, just quote me. If he shows that is.
41. Strike (0-1) vs. 42. Aka (0-1)
Strike is better, I got a feeling aka is gonna no show, strike will win
43. Facts Machine (0-2) vs. 44. Rocamon (0-0)
Ehh, rocamon will win, it’ll be close though
45. Skill (0-0) vs. 46. Booga (0-0) vs. 47. Trendsetter (0-0)
This match is dope. Ive heard a lot of good things about Booga and Trensetter is nice, But skill is dope, skill will take this, but it’ll be a classic match if everyone tries, this is gonna be interesting to see, I’ll be looking forward to it, but yea Skill will win.

9th Degree won a 64 man tournament on some site, so he isn’t bad, and molneef is rusty, Im gonna say 9th degree will win this, it’ll be close though, but yea Mol still needs to knock the rust off.
50. Money Bags (0-0) vs. 51. Wowzer (0-0)
Hmmm, Wowzer claims hes a newbie, Im gonna believe him and say Money bags will take this easily.

Auspex will win, deluxe isn’t bad though, but yea Auspex gonna do his shit.

16. storm-g (3-0) - storm-g’s getting back to his old self slowly. Hes on a winning streak and might keep it if he drops like his old self this week, if not he’ll lose but hes still nice.
15. Guile (0-0) - guile is nice, he just takes risks sometimes, like what he did last week, dissing twist in a match with someone else. Anyways if guile stays consistent he’ll be wrecking the comp.
14. Aces Full (1-0) - Aces is dope, hes proven me wrong in many predictions, but hes shown me exactly what he can do. Hes gonna be in the top 20 soon, and if he keeps elevating he’ll be champ one day soon.
13. Vadik (5-2) - Vadik is dope, hes sexier than he is in his pic, or so he says =/, anyways yea the man is nice, he does his thing, and has been getting back into form, hes creative and witty, watch out for this guy.
12. Lunch Lady (3-1) - lunch is nice, and funny, fresh too. Lunch will be in top 10, and champ match soon if he/she sticks at it, I see nothing but good things for lunch, lunch is dope.
11. Mic Booth (7-3) - Booth doesn’t care, or so he says, he had a chance at being champ like 1 or 2 weeks ago but he no showed, Booth will get to the champ match again though and its up to him if hes gonna win the belt.
10. Tony Elbow (5-1) - tony elbow is one of my personal favortie battlers. He always has some OH SHIT personal punches that hit hard as fuck, he will be champ one day, and if anyways deserves it he sure does.
9. SezsioN (6-0) - Sez is dope. Always has a nice flow, and personal punches, hes out to prove himself, he was offended when he was put in the WBL Legends archive, actually he was pissed when I put him in and took him out after I was told to do so by the man hes facing this week, Im sure hes gonna express his anger.
8. ClasSick (15-4) - Class is the best Mexican battler to ever grace this site, and he will show the league once again exactly why he’s one of the best. Whether he wins or loses, he will always put up a fight.
7. ARMZ (5-1) - ARMZ has proven that hes nice with it, hes gonna keep proving it too, this man deserves his props. ARMZ has made his mark on the league, and he wont be forgotten for it.
6. Skill (0-0) - skill is dope, yea like I said before he talks a lot of shit, but he usually backs it up, hes gonna be champ one day, when? I have no idea, especially if he restarts his record again lol. But yea skill will be in the top 20 soon again.
5. timevirus (7-1) - time is dope, he has a loss in his loss column but still, the man is a monster. Time will be champ one day, all he has to do is stay in the league. He might get one or two more losses in his journey to the belt though.
4. shake-zula (17-5) - shakes creative and dope like I always say. But yea shake has a chance at becoming champ this week, he better do the best he can do and shine. He needs to get his act together and show RC just what hes made of, Im sure he has it in him, actually I know it.
3. Resin M-I-C (9-1) - Resin is dope, but he tends to be at his best when his opponents have a pic on the net. Resin has proven to be one of the best, and he’ll be champ again soon if he stays in the league.
2. Ouch (15-6) - ouch is dope, he hasn’t been trying but he hasn’t had too. He lost to Armz in a match where he obviously didn’t think he didn’t more than a half ass verse, and he almost won that too. But yea, if ouch tries in the next couple of matches he’ll be champ.
1. Richard Corey (14-6) - RC’s been wrecking shit, and hes gonna keep doing the same until he doesn’t feel like champ anymore, or next week if Ouch tries when he faces him. Ouch is the only person I see beating RC at the time. But RC has proven just how much he deserves to be champ over the past few months over and over again.
