Malaga is awesome, I've been there two times. Keep your eyes out for graffiti n shit, Spain is pretty cool when it comes to that stuff. Make sure to check out the Malagueta beach and some of that touristy crap, mountains n shit if you like hiking. If you're staying in a touristy place try walking a bit off track and check out restaurants etc. that got true local food for reasonable prices instead of the watered down shit with no soul (it's still pretty good food but you can better for less money), make sure the locals go there as well/that it got traffic. Trip Advisor can probably help you out a little bit there as well. Y'all got any specific plans to do while being there?

Not sure if it's your thing but try to see if you can find some Flamenco shit that got food as well, pretty cool traditional thing to see live. Specially if they serve food as well before going to a club/pub or whatever.

Watch out for bad areas though and never go alone. This one dude we got to know got a bit too drunk, wandered off alone and got robbed on his way home. He told us all about it the day after with a blue eye.
