im with objective on this matter somewhat although i disagree with the cdbaby route and the like. tunecore etc
well, actually though it might be okay for a rapper though, just know that if you put your music out through those services their is basically fineprint stopping you from licensing it.
like if i put my beat tapes through them, if i tried to sell a license to a tv show or something for a beat off one of my tapes they can nix it
at least thats what i hear from old beat homies who are deep in music licensing for various tv projects. like my dude put out a free tape through one of those services, to get it put on itunes/rapsody/etc. all the streaming services, and then sold it to bad girls club through a music library and they fucked him. because your basically giving them ownership of it in some form, i have to know more for actual numbers and shit, but they get you with the yea you get 91 cents on the dollar for every sale, but they 100 percent own it and just give you the lions share for doing business with them.
so if you have plans of licensing any songs, it won't work
as for the hinting at tracks coming down the pipe, its whatever. i'd prefer this to you actually posting it. i got the e-mail i'll check it and email you my critique
but when you drop a project, its better to have everything be new to the listener, if you post every track when you release the whole project its like yea, we've heard all this oh there is one or two new ones? cool. but it won't have the same impact.
but word man i got you on feedback through email here shortly
