I think it would be the i robot types, more so then the terminator types.
And when the i robot types do become self aware and self sufficient, they might make their own terminator types.
First of all, to assume that all humans have all other humans best interest at heart is the first reason why its possible. There will always be that one guy.
Secondly, making a robot with free will is already a possibility, and will only get more advanced.
Another note, to ease the stress of labor, blue or white collar, AI is being worked on every single day.
It CAN happen.
