this person was not "involved directly" though, he made a meme that the president found and reposted on his own. trump didn't credit him. cnn tracked down a random shitposter, went the extra mile to find out who was behind the avatar, and coerce a public apology in exchange for not releasing his information to the rabid trump hating wolves
its strange times when the president posts a meme in the first place, let alone a meme of him at wrestlemania clotheslining a gif of a news organization lmao
but to go after some random dude on the net for making it in the first place, when he had no intention of the president using it, and no intention of creating the false narrative of encouraging assault on the media is shitty. pure and simple.
the gif was obviously made as a commentary for trumps whole cnn is fake news in a "oh shit trump bodied them lolzers" way.
i dunno, as someone who has made shit memes clowning around, i couldn't imagine being hunted down to have my personal info posted opening myself up to the crazies on either side
would you want the alt right, or the antifa to have your home address and a reason to hate you? all because you made a harmless meme taken completely out of context?
all the news needed to report was, hmm did trump make it? who did? oh some hanassholesolo troll on a forum? so it wasn't trumps team? ok. lets report on actual news.
