I have a love/hate relationship with Tech N9ne.
When I was young and pretentious, and spent my days listening to Aesop Rock, Atmosphere, Blackalicious, J-Live, Chino XL, Aceyalone, Jurassic 5 and anyone from a Soundbombing compilation, everyone in my high school started listening to Tech N9ne. In particular, this song:
So, I quickly decided that I hated Tech N9ne because I hated this song, and anyone who asked me if I had ever heard of Tech N9ne before was a piece of shit. I still don't like the song.
I have listened to some Tech N9ne since then, and he's fine. But I like Wrekonize/Mayday, Murs, Rittz and I discovered Jay Rock when he was on Strange Music. Outside of that, I can't say I've been terribly impressed with any of the other dudes Tech came up with; Krizz Kaliko, Kutt Calhoun, Big Scoob, Ces Cru, etc. But I did download The Storm the other day, and I plan to skim through it at some point.
