Umm what? What other defensive statistics could buoy them? rebounds? steals are the forced fumbles of the NBA. A steal is a free possession for your offense. In addition, steals are far more difficult to accomplish than any other defensive stat that would buoy them. So.......your argument is invalid and nonsensical. Magic Johnson is a better point guard than Stockton. Isaiah Thomas is a better point guard than Stockton. Chris Paul is a better point guard than Stockton. To name a few.
