For me it's all about quality, dosage and frequency regarding the drugs in question. Tolerance goes up fast for most drugs, do them 2-3 times a year and it can be better/worse, the golden balance and purity is hard to figure out cuz it's illegal. I do mdma every 4-8 months, first time was the best but mainly because I didn't know what to expect and it exceeded my expectations. Now I know what to expect and the novelty wears off a little bit due to that as well. But experiences differ a lot from time to time due to quality even tho the test kit tests positive for mdma.

I'm very happy I got introduced to mdma at the age of 26. It has almost completely removed my my periodic social anxiety, removed 90% of my arachnophobia, got me and my friends closer together etc. It's all about moderation, control and not just know of the dangerous side effects but respect them as well.
