King Keith: Ouch, that sucks. Yeah, happens every now and then with me as well. Most of the times when I bust out of a tournament or lose a lot of my chips it's on pre-flop situations like that. When it comes to the 88 and trips thing I can't really comment on it because I don't know what kind of history you got with the person and what you put him on along with what range you suspected he'd raise/call with. Luck was just not on your side but I'm fairly certain most people, me included, would have done the same thing, haha.
That 60/40 thing is wrong, it feels like that because people only remember the beats and not the wins. Even if you had lost AA 100 times in a row (alltho' unlikely) it wouldn't be a believable statistic. I'm fairly certain that if you had played the same hand pre-flop 100k times you'd win about 80-90k of those hands. If you use Poker Tracker I think you can check out the stats there.
