i'll accept people putting carlin and pryor over him because its the equivalent of putting biggie and pac over people.

they're not technically better but its the commercially acceptable viewpoint

carlin put out alot of mediocre trash. he put out good shit too, don't get me wrong. but comedy more than anything is preferential.

patrice would never put himself up there with carlin and pryor, but his peers do.

he gets alot of credit since he died. the big l/biggie/pac syndrome both hurts and helps. he only did one real special. i think he had a comedy central half hour, maybe a showtime special or hbo i forget as well, but i can't find it.

but his standup was rock solid all around.

again i'm biased cuz i've literally listened to him spew his woman hating viewpoint for hundreds of hours, off stage on radio shows and shit. so when you hear him actually putting his opinions out, and then you hear him on stage putting it all together he was a fucking BEAST.

to me he's the black thought of standup if black thought died lol. you'd have the ignorant laugh him out of top 5's, but he should be in top 5's off his skillset alone.

he'd dismantle hecklers. he'd walk a whole room no fucks given. he could sit on a stool with no energy and keep everything together.

his only mainstream roast was the charlie sheen one, and he went off the head for 90 percent of it.

there is really no point in defending him tho, if he's not in your top 5 its gotta be because you haven't seen and heard enough from him.
