Ironically not a big Trainspotting fan, despite it being very relevent to where I'm from.
Is it weird that I'm still 100% Glaswegian? I moved to Ireland when I was 11, almost exactly. I'm now 23. I've lived in Ireland for longer than I've been Scottish, yet I still consider myself COMPLETELY from the area I am. To be fair, the last few years have added to this. My brother's friend when he was about 14 got talking to him on Bebo. She came over a few times when they were both about 22. Long story short, she and him now have a kid and are engaged. Pretty crazy story, but because she's from the same estate as us it keeps us somewhat connected. I haven't been there in probably 9 years but would still think I'm completely from there. No doubt when I got to Scotland they'll take the piss out of my accent, but in Ireland I still rarely get understood since Glasgow is such an insanely slang accent.
Is it weird that even though I was only 11 when I moved I'm still 100% Scottish? The idea of changing my nationality even though on some bullshit form feels awful to me. The only times in my life I've claimed to be Irish is on form websites that only have the options "Republic or Ireland" or "United Kingdom". If it has an "Other" option I'd write Scotland, despite it being in the the UK. 45% motherfuckaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.
Btw I didnt vote tonight cause the post above can show I'm hammered. Got 6 episodes to go in Sopranos and gonna throw in two chapters of my Martian audiobook (despite being a topical writer, I fucking HATE reading and books and shit, guy on an MMA site convinced me to read The Martian and I'm loving it, but gutted that there's a movie out I coulda just watched instead).
