in ancient times everyone was enslaved by someone. there werent as big of a slave trade as far as breeding went at least as most of the best slaves physically were given the worst jobs. like in the mines and shit. the slaves which were purposefully breed FOR THE MOST part in ancient times were bred for beauty. eye and hair color. shit like that. personal house slaves. im sure they bred physical specimens for field work but slaves could free themselves and it wasnt as much of a generational systematic thing. it was too easy to just get new slaves from newly conquered provinces

but as for the more recent irish slaves sold to the americas

they were worth 1/10 of a black dude. they were disposable. to get more money they would breed them with black dudes to have mulatto kids to sell for higher prices

the climate and work favored the dark skinned and strong specimens. they were systematically bred based on stature and health. got good teeth broad shoulders big hands? breed him with this giant black woman.
