@veritas, I'm pretty sure when destro says "religion will be the cause of mankind's extinction" he is referring to humans dying via war inspired by religion, not to a lack of baby making.

Witty, how do you feel about polygamy? Or cousins marrying and having children? What about brothers and sisters or mothers with sons? If you are against, can you provide a reason that wouldn't apply to gay marriage? These are all instances of consenting adult humans where their marrying and having children wouldn't affect other people.
I can't find a reason tbh. So I have a little cognitive dissonance over this. Either all the above is OK or we have to revise what qualifies as an acceptable behavior from "something that doesn't negatively affect other people" to something else.
Like, instead of the rule for what's acceptable being inclusive unless there's a reason to exclude (eg relationships with a child are not OK bc child can't give informed consent)
Perhaps the rule needs to be exclusive unless there's a reason to include (gay marriage is OK because a majority of people believe it to be... Or some other reason (?))
Or maybe you can just just give me a strong point against incest that doesn't apply to gay marriage and I can put this cognitive dissonance to rest.
