like if i sent you a beat DEVOID of a bassline, and or a beat with a minor bassline, could you in turn record either playing along, or improvising a bassline for it?

if you are ON THE FENCE, just remember i'm not asking you to be the greatest bassist in the world. just able to play anything that makes sense, even if its just a couple of notes

my main reason for sampling, OTHER THAN BEING HIP HOP AS FUCK WATUP, is mainly because i am sort of tone deaf. in all actuality i'm probably NOT tonedeaf, but when i try to play basslines, or any instrument for that matter, i have trouble identifying the note and or key or whatever the music i am playing to is in, so i poke at keys, or pluck at strings until i think it sounds right

but whenever i listen back with fresh ears, i'm way off. so my problem is, as i'm poking through all these keys and such, searching for the note that matches, my brain gets lost, and ends up thinking what is wrong is right.

i am able to identify i was wrong, after i give my ears a break.

i could even just send a drum track, have you lay a bass loop on it, and i could build from there, or i could send an actual beat without bass and see what you do on it.

alot of samples i leave alone because there is no bass, and i'm shit at playing bass. i usually end up chopping and accentuating the bass in my beats
